Ff EDF, a high-performance, socially-responsible electricity company and champion of low-carbon growth.
One of EDF’s activities, associated with the production of electricity from nuclear sources, is the decommissioning and the management of radioactive waste.
The decommissioning of nuclear installations requires complex projects to be controlled over a long period of time. To manage these projects efficiently, EDF has reated in 2016 the Decommissioning and Waste Project Division (DP2D). The DP2D is implementing the “waste led decommissioning” approach, which incorporates waste management from the decommissioning scenario study. It enables the optimisation of decommissioning schedules and a reduction in the overall costs of waste management by using, among other levers, the development of innovative robotic solutions.
