Cranfield University is a specialist university: wholly postgraduate with a 1:5 academic staff to student ratio to ensure teaching, research and consultancy is carried out in close partnerships with industry, government and business. In the UK Cranfield is no. 1 for industrial research funding per academic and 88% of research is classed as “world-leading” or “internationally excellent” (REF 2022). The Centre for Robotics and Assembly specialises in creating solutions for ‘difficult to automate’ processes and its Industrial Psychology and Human Factors research group are devoted to scientific analysis of human-centred aspects.
